so miss l and i have these date nights, where we wander around and do random fun silly things. last night was one of them... we met at kona grill in cherry creek for a stellar happy hour (sushi rolls, a whole pizza and avocado egg rolls for $21? yes please!) and had some serious girl talk. i mean, talk that even i had to whisper in a small voice at points, to keep from being overheard. it was great.
then, since miss l needs a new wallet, we walked around the (almost closed) mall and played in a few stores... macy's had crazy expensive and ugly purses, and but yummy perfume; the body shop had great sales and 'try me' coconut body butter, and nine west had these a-dor-ab-le heels and matching handbags that made me almost tear off my cowboy boots, grab a nylon sockie and find the perfect fitting pair for my lil' feet (restraint, though, right?). while miss l doctored up her grande decaf americano with room, i windowshopped some turquoise jewelry in a kiosk, then moved into brookstone, settling into the chair outfitted with a full back massage and calf/foot massage/squeezer. hea.ven. miss l and her coffee soon joined me, and we spent maybe ten minutes just watching the stray, late night shopper (9pm on a monday night is a weird time to be at the mall), enjoying our vibrating back and squeezed feet. it was marvelous.
more marvelous than the fun, random activities though, was the company. miss l is such a lovely, quality, friend, and i couldn't be where i am without her. she puts up with my grumpiness on bad days, and indulges my silliness on good days. she eats mexican food with me and talks to me about Jesus and gets her hands dirty while planting 100 tulip bulbs in my front yard with me. she watches american idol auditions with me and tells me straight up when i'm being stupid or mean, and she lets me therapize her sometimes, and she pushes my boundaries and asks me to take my walls down sometimes, when i don't want to. but i'll do it, cause i know she knows how hard it is.
so thank you, miss l, for being the definition of a good friend, and encouraging me to be better in life. i admire and respect you, and especially enjoy your taste in clothing/fashion statements.
happy two year denver-versary, lady!
i'm so blessed by you as well my dear friend!
