(...blog stalked)
i have been known to be a stalker.
not a creepy stalker, mind you, but a 21st century, mindful, know-what-you're-getting-yourself-into-before-you-get-into-it kind of stalker. meaning, i'm pretty savvy on the ol' fb and google, to finding people and things that are of relevancy to me. and when i run into a dead end, i call in a friend named jnoble, said sugar-supplier (pre-sugar lock out) of yore.
this talent is especially handy when you're of the internet-dating type, which i am. i like to look specifically on fb to see if i can find a guy before i meet him, so i can get a good idea of who he is. honestly, i think it's partly my morbid curiosity, and partly the the therapist in me that wants to analyze people before i meet them.. i think you can tell a lot about someones character by the pictures they put up, the friends they choose, the amount of friends they have, and what their friends say on their walls. oh, and let's not forget status updates, right?
that said, i sometimes forget the coin has two sides, and that i, myself, am totally stalkable, as well. i have tried my best to be un-stalkable, as many of my clients are also research-savvy, and i would feel super uneasy about having a client see my personal life outside of my lil' hobbit closet. but, i know there are other methods of stalking, and dear readers, this ol' blog is the main one. but like i said, i had totally forgotten the whole idea... that is until last night.
red headed boy and i were talking on the phone, casually, about life or something great, then he randomly asks me a question out of the blue: 'so, who's this guy that's been stealing your kisses?' i knew, right away, that this was a direct quote from a blog post a few days ago. somewhat flattered and one hundred percent surprised, i asked, 'i think it's you. and oh, are you reading my blog??' and he replied, well my sister is, and she told me about it'.
my heart stopped.
i forgot that the blog was open to the WHOLE WORLD! and that red headed boy and adorably (and equally) red headed sister are very close, and talk about everything. my mind raced: "did i say anything embarrassing? hurtful? thoughtless? mean? ahhh. what grave have i dug for myself?? why didn't i think of this? of course she would try to find me on the internet! of course she would find my blog and tell him what i write about him!" and, as a stalker myself, i'm not even weirded out by these facts- i'm simply impressed!
weirdly, just a few hours earlier, miss l had asked if i was going to blog more about the red headed boy. i had told her no, i had learned my lesson, and it feels like we're legitimately dating, so i don't want to turn it into a novelty. take note, world, i am learning boundaries and filters! :)
so miss kj (nice initials, btw) and miss sb (the sister-in-law that was really reading the blog, who told kj about the blog, who told red headed boy about the blog..), if you're reading now: good work ! i like your styles :)
this was my treat for the day: a $1 piggy bank from target that is freakin' ADORABLE. nothing to do with this post at all. |
looks like i might have a little competition...i'm a little impressed, a lot pleased and maybe a little worried?
ReplyDeletebut please keep in mind, i am THAT good... :)
and you're still welcome for the eggs. i know your weakness
Miss kj and miss sb apologize for the heart stopping moment but were glad to read cute comments of said red headed boy. We also find red headed boy cute and stalk only to make sure that he finds a non dud girl...which he has. Blog on my dear new friend!
