(..."man" meaning eeyore, that is)
this is a view of my traveling companion for the day. in fact, this was my view of my whole morning, essentially. eeyore (who is packed away in this here box) and i got a ride to the airport, went through airport security, rode on a plane, walked through midway airport, rode two trains (orange and brown lines) and then walked through the rain in chicago, then landed at a cozy lil home. this took about five hours, so me and eeyore, well... we got pretty close. i grew a bit attached to his lil fondant self, and was a little sad to see him go later that evening.
eeyore was quite popular, especially because he was hidden in the box. most people assumed he was cupcakes, and kept asking if they could have one. i am sure if people could see how freakin' cute his lil' face was, through the box, he would have been even more popular, and i doubt we would have made it through in one piece. i'm pretty sure the general public would have eaten him alive, if given the chance.
that being said, we did make it. he was a good travel companion: he accompanied me on the plane, and i knew he needed both hands, so i was forced to pack very light (everything in a backpack, all 3 oz or less!) so i could give him full attention for all traveling. i've never brought such a light bag; it was so freeing! he kept me company on the plane, fitting pretty nicely under the seat in front of me, and he gave me a little to do on the plane (anxiously check his frosted cake board to ensure it hadn't crumbled apart or smushed around the cake edges). he also boosted my confidence: when i did show him to people and they asked where i got him, i got to tell them that i hand-crafted him myself! i also felt super professional, hand delivering a cake via plane ride. despite his gray exterior and debbie-downer reputation, that sad lil' ass {yep, that's what i said} was very uplifting and encouraging!
everyone seemed to be amazed that i traveled with a lil sugary donkey with no problems, but i wasn't. i would do it again, especially for someone like dan j, my favorite eeyore.
