t to the ired

today i am tired. exhausted, maybe. i am not trying to complain, but i feel a certain amount of (self-induced) pressure to share fun, quirky stories that happen to me here on this long obsessive blog, and the reality is, lately there haven't been much.

don't get me wrong: lots of things are happening... i'm taking care of two super pups (by my count both have been hit by large vehicles and both walked away, unscathed), co-leading a small group, participating in another small group which breaks into even smaller groups, sort of dating a consistent boy, working two jobs and finding a rhythm to my new schedule, working out, and doing social things, like making dinner for friends and having craft dates. oh, and did i mention my new obsession with playing scrabble with friends on my droid?? (if you have a droid, let's talk and be scrabble friends).

it's just that the reality is, none of it's really quirky or hilarious right now, it's just life. and i love it, LOVE. i couldn't, really, ask for more, and i'm pretty happy and content with things. i just want you to know that i'm on the look out for silly life stories, and when they happen, i promise you'll be the first to know :)

in the mean time, i'd like to share four things that brightened my sleepy eyes and groggy mind this morning when i sat down at my desk....

1. a bitch citation, from a good friend at work, citing me for being... (let's see what he checked on the endless list of bitchy possibilities...)..., oh! that's right, according to sam, i'm an 'unspayed' and 'posh' bitch. "but", the note says, i'm "so his bitch". so i guess that's good.

2. my new favorite post-it pad: a boston terrier playing on a laptop. just sitting around, like nbd. "me and my mac are soooo too good for you" is what i feel like he's saying to me. i feel like if he were real, he could be myla's supersmart, superhipster terrier boyfriend. as a mom, i approve (if he treats her right. and keeps her away from buses).

3. my newest, and by far greatest, artwork from mr ashe (age 4) and mr aidan  (age 2) harper themselves. these were actually birthday cards that the boys made me... ashe made a lovely stable scene with sparkly horse stickers (interesting to me, he has no interest in anything but pilots, superheros and fruit snacks when we talk), and aidan, love him, he gave me all his thomas the train stickers, and colored me some pictures. the stickers he chose are a big deal, his dad informed me, because they his all-time favorite and he specifically chose them for me. i think kid art is my favorite thing in.the.planet.

4. my cutey cute cute postcard calendar from miss enchelleada herself. this month includes dog busts, featuring a lovely posh (bitch, i'm guessing) poodle, chihuahua, doberman, and of COURSE, a black lab and boston terrier. it's like i have my girls just hanging out with me at work all month. plus i love the purple!
