why was it so marvelous you ask? well, let me count the ways...
1) my head sweats like it's going out of style. mabye because i have thick hair, maybe because i'm totally awesome, i don't know why. but i do know it sweats, and that's annoying on race days, especially.
(sweaty race head) |
2) i have thin eyebrows. eyebrows essentially function to keep forehead sweat from dripping into your eyes, so while fashionable, my eyebrows are not functional, which makes for a miserable racing experience
(this was pre-wax accident that left me with 1.5 brows) |
3) small eyebrows+thick hair+ four hours of running=sweaty face and unhappy kaci
(the Yeti at her finest) |
(bangin at a bangin concert) |
5) i get grumpy when my ears get cold. they get cold easily and often while running. race day temp was like 44 degrees in the morning. my ears were bound to freeze, but... the wide bondiband fit right over my lil ears and kept them snug as a bug in a rug while i ran! then, when i got hot, i just tucked it behind my ears and voila, headband AND earmuffs. in one. who doesn't love a bi-functional piece of running gear?
(that's an ear) |
6) there were like 56.9 million people running on sunday. i was the only one i saw with a bright pink headband. which meant that my friends and family found me very easily, and that made pictures, sighting and cheering THAT much easier. can't complain about instant paparrazzi following, can you?
(can you pick me out? avery could!) |
all of that, plus there is the most fun colors and sayings on each of them! check them out here! i'm wishing i got more, but right now i am happy to flaunt the bright pink one on my head.
I can't wait to get my bondiband!
ReplyDeleteI usually wear a hat because of my bangs, fly aways and thick hair! I don't love how a hat blocks part of your view when running. I think I'd love a bondiband! fashion + function = i'm sold!
