(...nude 1 and 2)
in hawaii, the big toenail on my right foot fell off. like, the whole nail just fell right off and left me a nude little (big) toe for the rest of my tropical vacation. i was sad and disappointed, but secretly felt a little b.a. because it fell off as a result of our epic hike up long's peak earlier that year. however, no matter how b.a. the reason is, it's not fun to have a naked little (big) toe, especially during flip flop season. and no matter how much i wish for it to grow (and believe me, it's been a lot of wishing), it just hasn't started growing back yet.
a few months ago, when the snow was falling and temperatures were dropping, he and i went to ross for a spontaneous late night shopping spree. i bought an awesome $14 relic watch, and a pair of cute, nude Nine West wedges. i have been dying to wear them for almost two months, and now that the spring weather has begun to arrive, it feels more appropriate to wear naked toe shoes.
that being said, a nude toe and nude, peep-toed wedges are not a good match. i mean, who wants to see a corpse-toe poking out of a pair of shoes, no matter how cute they are?? however, open-toed shoes are some of my favorite things in the whole planet, so there is NO way i would go this spring without sporting my little toesies in my favorite shoes. especially new, flirty fun shoes.
so, to remedy the situation and get ready for a spring and summer full of flip-floppy fun, i did what every normal girl would do: i filed down the callused toe and painted it. (side note: i realized that the callus had sort of turned into a nail, so it really was not just painting a nude toe. which is possibly grosser).
now i have two big toenails, eight little toenails (a 'feet' in itself, since they fall off the time from running), and two whole feet ready for spring and cute shoes!
peep toes, bring it on!!
