the incredible, edible egg

(...egg-tastic)

it's almost Easter!*

LK and i decorated designer eggs, using crafty craft supplies. these two were my favorites! they were done on brown eggs, so technically they weren't dyed. but they sure are cute. the one on the right is hollow, so i can keep it always, and i'm debating how to preserve the hardboiled one on the left. thoughts?

also, trivia of the day: it is the color of a chicken's earlobe that determines the color of their egg- not necessarily the color of their feathers! see here and here. weirdly, i learned that fact while on reading an in-flight magazine on a plane.

*ps Easter is one of my top two favorite holidays {valentine's is the other}. i'm really stoked this year, not just cause i get to eat sugar again (ah, lent) but because i have a true church home, and church friends to share this beautiful, graceful, amazing day of holiness with. lucky me! that, and my mom still gives me an easter basket or treat, which is lovely and nostalgic. thanks, mama!
