dear readers,
not to creep you out, but (to creep you out), i've been stalking you.
i've installed a 'sitemeter' on the blog to track stats, and blogger itself also tracks stats as well. things like, how did people find my page, how long did they read it, how often is it visted, etc. i have to say, i found out a few things that have made me think twice about blogging, and a few that just make me laugh.
for instance, i can tell the latitude and longitude of where you are when you read. i cant' tell who you are, but i can tell where you are. specifically, there is a reader in denver and a reader in castle rock that visit often. thanks for the blog love! it's funny to see how people i don't know (i am assuming) are reading my random thoughts. i hope they are enjoyable for you!
and my favorite, i can also see what search words people used in a search engine that pulled up my site. here are my favorites...
'pete yorn' yes! i am somehow linked to py in the cyberworld that is the internet
'tow truck' why?
'madalyn aslan, 2010' i think she's a fortune teller. i am not. obviously, there's a strong link.
'bunionectomy surgery' what a weird thing that i can relate to.
'cardboard testimony' a moment i am happy to have documented here.
'obsession with wiggling permanent teeth' never. ever. ever. written these words. together. in a sentence. however, apparently this phrase makes me find-able, so maybe i should copyright it? it has a nice creep factor to it...
readers, don't fret! this is no reason to be creeped out or to feel inhibited from reading- or, (gasp) feel like you have to do so in secret! rest assured, the latitude/longitude is a touch off, the map function doesn't really work, and the only real info it gives me is what browser you're using, what your ISP # is and other weird, techy numbers that mean nothing to me. so i can't find you, even if you do leave a nasty comment (which has never happened). i share this info with you only to really share the awe and amazement of this crazy world we are living in.
and to think, most of us existed pre-internet. pre-cell phones. pre-blogs. how did we survive?
love,
kj
